Upcoming meetings: March Meeting is on the 13th of March and is a presentation by the US Bureau of Reclamation Dive team. Meeting site to be announced.

New business: Jim Hull (VP) inquired about interest in making a club/group dive run to Blue Lake in March. Also Jim gave a brief report on last year's NW Diving News Treasure hunt dive in Tacoma Washington and gave the group the heads up that it is coming up in May and there will be a few people going.

Notice: A weight belt was found in Niagara Springs. 17lbs. (Dan)

Bob Rice Pond: Denise Roberts (Prez) gave a brief report on BRP conditions and the placement of Harvey's plaque. BRP has ice on it has lots of golf balls on the ice. For the placement of Harvey's plaque, Wade and Denise were the divers. Jim Hull, Mike Garske, and Jody Hull were the shore support. The plaque has been installed and is in about 12ft of water.

Attendees were reminded about the upcoming Boat Show later in the week and that the dive club will share a booth with Parks and Recreation in order to increase boater awareness of the diver down flag.

Speaker - He was a former US Navy SEAL diver and told stories of some of the dives and training he has had while in the Navy. Some highlights of his talk were the following:

He has dived the USS Utah and USS Arizona sunken ships. He also dived Guam and many other sites around the world. He has been around the world three times in his Naval career. His training took place in southern California around the Channel Islands. Equipment included rebreathers and 2-3mil wetsuits in 55F water. Most of their diving took place at night without lights and at around 15ft depth. He would spend up to 4 hours underwater and a total of 6 to 7 hours in the water for a given mission or training session. (Just keep kicking at a constant speed for 4 hours to keep warm!)

A couple of Pizzas were provided by the club and consumed by all.

Dive Safe!!!
