Meeting of 11/09/04

The meeting was called to order at 7:00 pm by Arnie. There were 26 members attending. After reminding everyone that at the next meeting new officers will be elected, she introduced The DAN doctor, Dr. Eric Johnson. Being the DAN representative in this area, he is contacted whenever there is an incident of Decompression Illness or other diving related medical problems, either affecting someone from this area or someone passing through when traveling. He gave a very interesting presentation, with videos and slides, about some of the things to watch out for that can cause medical problems when diving and how to avoid and prepare to avoid them. He said that this talk was just a beginning to the information he has available. He said that this was the first time he had given a talk to a group in Boise. He said that he would like to come back and do another presentation whenever he is free. We will take advantage of his knowledge again soon. After thanking Dr. Johnson, Arnie reminded everyone about the officer elections next time and adjourned the meeting.
