13-SEP-2005 MEETING

Meeting Minutes For Desert Divers Of Idaho

Meeting of 9/13/05

The meeting was a dive meeting at Rose Pond, south of the ITD building on State Street. The 9 members that participated included Wade Pfennig, Lyle Carlile, Carl Darling, Lyle Tarbet, Jeff Burkhardt, Tristan Burkhardt, Harvey Harris and Denise Roberts.

The weather was very nice and after a short meeting and dive talk we all got our gear on and went diving. The visibility was about 2 ft., not as good as I have seen it in Rose pond. As we were a little late in getting in, the sun was down somewhat and the water was dark. We found the normal stuff such as a shopping cart, bicycle and lots of weeds. I did see a fish of some kind. It flashed by to fast to tell. At one point Denise lost her light. She was on the surface and it slipped from her wrist. Luckily it was on. I went down and put my face on the bottom and in just a few I saw a flicker and there it was. My first night search and rescue, and the subject lived!

We got out after dark. As soon as everyone was accounted for back at the parking lot, we got out of our gear and talked for a while. It was another great time with friends. I hope to see more people at the next meeting at the Fire House. The next meeting is on October 11. See you there!

Dirk Spackman, Sec/Treas.
